Spring Decorating Ideas

Spring is just around the corner and it’s time to think about sprucing up your home for the new season. Decorating for spring is a great way to get your home feeling light, airy, and ready for the coming months. To help you start brainstorming ideas for your spring decorating project, here are some tips for creating the perfect spring look.

Start with a Light Color Palette
A light color palette can instantly brighten up your home and give it a fresh, spring feel. Pops of pastel colors like mint green, baby blue, and soft pink or creamy neutrals like white, grey, and beige are all great choices for spring. You can use these colors in walls, furniture, drapes, and accessories to create a bright and cheerful atmosphere.

Bring Nature Inside
Nothing screams springtime more than introducing elements of nature into your home. That could be as simple as a few plants or flowers, along with some wood elements, like twigs and sticks.

Spring Ideas

1. Hang a festive wreath on your front door.
2. Place a few small potted plants and flowers in the kitchen.
3. Gather bright, cheerful throw pillows for the living room and porch.
4. Re-arrange the furniture and accent with colorful items, such as a bowl of fruit, in your entryway.
5. Hang a string of bunting along the mantel.
6. Create a festive table centerpiece with bright flowers and seasonal fruits.
7. Hang sheer curtains in the windows and allow the spring sunshine to filter in.
8. Add fresh scented candles in the bedrooms and bathrooms.
9. Hang a decorative mirror in the hallway to open it up.
10. Don’t forget the porch! Set up a bistro set and decorate the space with a bright doormat and flower baskets.

Spring Decorating DIY

1. Repaint existing furniture.
2. Plant a vegetable garden.
3. Upcycle old glass jars into pots for succulents.
4. Hang a swing from a sturdy tree branch.
5. Craft planters from recycled materials.
6. Create your own compost heap.
7. Design and make a wind chime.
8. Paint colorful rocks and use them for outdoor décor.
9. Convert an old dresser into a nightstand.
10. Install a rainwater collection system.
