5 Ways to Keep a Home Tidy and Clean

So you’ve decided to keep a clean and tidy home your goal for this year. Great! Now, where to begin?

I suggest baby steps.

You have a goal in mind and need to remember we aren’t perfect, but we can do things each day to start this goal. We can’t accomplish it all at once. Start with a morning routine, or maybe an evening routine. Maybe start with just making the bed each morning and then add in something else to include each morning, like make the bed and ran a load of laundry or run the dishwasher, or unload the dishwasher. Start with simple things and work up to accomplishing all the things.

Use some great products to help your home smell clean, but aren’t harsh either. I love using products from Grove Collaborative. Mrs. Meyers is one of my favorites.

A tidy and clean home is a key part of living a comfortable and balanced lifestyle. Keeping up on your home maintenance can make life easier, as a neat and organized space will reduce stress and make it easier to focus on the important tasks at hand. Here are some helpful tips for keeping a home tidy and clean:

1. Make a routine. Consistency is key when it comes to maintaining a clean home. Give yourself regular tasks to ensure you stay ahead of dirt and clutter. Consider setting dedicated times for cleaning and tidying each day, such as vacuuming on Mondays and dusting on Fridays.

2. Declutter regularly. Regular purges of any items you are no longer using will minimize clutter and make cleaning much easier. Take the time to sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you don’t need or don’t use anymore.

3. Put things away. After every activity, take the time to put things in their place. Encourage the whole family to get in a habit of putting away their things so that cleaning up becomes easier and less time consuming.

4. Clean as you cook. As you prepare meals, clean up any spills or messes right away. This will help you keep your kitchen tidy and make it much easier to clean up once your meal is done.

5. Vacuum often. Regular vacuuming will help keep your home clean and reduce the amount of dust.

If you are needing a schedule to help you stay on track for 2023, I have one available that will help you get started with some consistency. Scroll below to grab a copy.

Morning Routine

Something to remember for a morning routine:

1. Drink some water.

2. Make your bed.

3. make your routine what YOU need it to be rather than copying someone else’s routine.

What do you do to help you keep up with household tasks? I would really love to know. Comment below and share.
